Ever since high school, Dr. Timothy Flynn has been driven by a passion for science and helping others. It’s led him through a fulfilling career as a board-certified internal medicine physician. Having worked in primary care, urgent care, and hospitals, Dr. Flynn says, “I love being able to coordinate care for seniors and see the big picture. Their needs are more complex, and it’s rewarding to help them feel better about their health and their lives.” His favorite part is building relationships along the way. During down time, Dr. Flynn keeps up with medical research, relaxes with family, makes videos with his son, and plays the guitar, harmonica, and piano. He also enjoys golf, mountain biking, kayaking, hiking, and wakeboarding.

Dr. Michel Ibrahim is passionate about healthcare accessibility and loves working with patients on their journey to improved health. “I see the patient- doctor relationship as a team,” he explains. “I believe that the way to achieve great results is to empower our patients to make good decisions about their health,” he says. He strives to ensure all his patients receive adequate care and attention. He was particularly drawn to the senior population after losing his grandfather to a preventable condition. “The senior population are the most susceptible to be hospitalized, and I want to change that,” he says. In his free time, Dr. Ibrahim enjoys spending time with family. He also loves photography and sports, especially soccer.

Cheryl McGruder loves getting to know her patients and strives to help them understand their medications. She explains, “During their visit, I take the time to address any social needs and offer any help they may need.” She genuinely cares about the health and well-being of her patients. “I want them to know I am listening to them, and I am here to help,” she says. She especially likes working with the senior population. “They have spent most of their lives taking care of others, and now it’s time to enjoy their golden years and relax,” she says. In her free time, Cheryl McGruder can be found completing DIY projects around her house. She also loves spending time with family and traveling with her younger sister.

Growing up, Dr. Kapil Kumar Pokharel “was fascinated by the service provided by healthcare workers.” He explains, “I wanted to serve people by becoming a part of the healthcare community.” His favorite part of his profession is seeing patients smile. He works to build trust with patients by actively listening and thoroughly explaining their diseases and treatments. He is an advocate of preventative care and considers himself to be “passionate and thorough” in what he does. If he could change anything about healthcare today, he would lower costs. He says he is “always there to bring a smile to your face.” In his free time, Dr. Pokharel likes playing soccer and basketball. He also enjoys adventure sports.

Dr. Jaskaren Gohal first became interested in healthcare as a child. “I later realized what a humbling privilege it is to be allowed to care for others in their most vulnerable moments. That is the part of this profession that I hold in the utmost regard,” she says. She is dedicated to disease management and has started a “Diabetes Bootcamp” to help patients understand the role of nutrition, diet, and exercise. She values doctor-patient relationships, taking the time to know them beyond their health concerns and allowing them to know her. She “wants to be part of a mission that truly honors” the value of seniors. Dr. Gohal loves spending time with family and hiking with her dog in her down time. She also plays tenor saxophone.

Dr. Sandra Zajac explains that a “desire to deliver care that is proactive, personal, and truly impactful” led her to a career in medicine. She explains that her “heritage, strong work ethic, and deep empathy” as a first-generation American shape her daily patient interactions. She aims to help patients “feel supported and confident” and strives to “empower seniors to maintain their independence and mobility.” She explains, “Working with seniors is especially meaningful to me because I have seen how even the smallest improvements in their health can greatly enhance their independence and quality of life.” In her free time, Dr. Zajac enjoys staying active, expressing her creativity through cooking and decorating, and traveling.
