Dr. May Montrichard is an accomplished family physician who earned her medical degree at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. before serving as a military physician. Her 21-year military career took her around the world to Korea and Germany before she retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Dr. Montrichard went on to share that knowledge with students at the University of Florida for several years as a Clinical Assistant Professor before opening her private practice, which she operated for 16 years. Dr. Montrichard chose to join the Chen Family and focus on seniors because, “I sincerely believe they have a lifetime of experiences to share, making the medical encounter often a unique experience.” She enjoys helping her patients stabilize issues they may have with a goal of retaining their independence and improving their quality of life.

Dr. Nishi Agarwal explains that making a difference in people’s lives was “a primary motivator in my career choice to become a physician.” She loves building trusting relationships with her patients. “I first like to spend time with them, listen to them, and understand where they are coming from, and then address any medical problems they might have and try to understand if there is an underlying social component to it,” she explains. She is passionate about preventative care and hopes to guide patients to live healthy lives. “I care about their well-being,” she says. In her free time, Dr. Agarwal enjoys meditating, practicing yoga, and gardening. She also likes traveling, reading, and cooking.

During her long career as a board certified physician and leader, Dr. Cherilyn Hanna-Mahase says, “I’ve been driven by the belief that keeping people healthy and well leads to happier families, longevity, and productivity.” Her initial inspiration came from having a grandmother who was a midwife. With her own patients, Dr. Hanna-Mahase gets to know them and takes a holistic approach—considering mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. “My favorite part is motivating them to make healthier choices and actually seeing better outcomes and quality of life.” In her time off, Dr. Hanna-Mahase likes to relax with family, read, exercise, and travel. Niagara Falls has been her favorite destination, and she hopes to visit Australia soon.

Dr. Cleon Gardonis loves interacting with people and having a positive impact on their health every day. “I am big on lifestyle medicine and believe that many things can improve with just diet and exercise and not always medications. I hope I can teach my patients something that they can teach their friends, family, and community, and spread the word,” he explains. He especially enjoys “finding the human side to patients and connecting with them on a more personal level.” He finds it especially satisfying to care for the his senior patients. In his free time, Dr. Gardonis enjoys golfing, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. He also loves building legos, which has been a hobby of his since he was a child.

Dr. Kyle Rauch is passionate about helping seniors live fulfilling lives. “The opportunity to make a positive impact on their well-being, offer comfort in times of need, and be a source of support during the later stages of life is what truly motivates me,” he says. Active listening, empathy, respect, and accessibility are a few of the many values he upholds in his practice. He likes developing individualized care plans. He explains, “I aim to create a strong bond with my patients, ensuring they feel valued, understood, and well-supported.” In his free time, Dr. Rauch prioritizes “self-care, professional development, and spending quality time with loved ones.” He also enjoys reading and collecting Pokemon memorabilia.

Dr. Shazada Yunus realized his passion for healthcare during high school. “My favorite part of being a physician is the opportunity to build long-term relationships with patients and help guide them through their health journey,” he says. He emphasizes “preventative care and education” in his practice and strives to “empower patients to make informed decisions that enhance their long-term health and well-being.” He adds, “As people live longer, there is a growing need for expertise in managing chronic conditions, promoting health aging, and enhancing the quality of life for seniors.” In his free time, Dr. Yunus loves exploring new places and watching sci-fi movies. He also likes staying fit through weightlifintg and calisthenics.

Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Rameni Rahim was a nurse for several years. She finds it incredibly rewarding to help family, friends, and patients navigate the complexities of the healthcare system. She values her long-lasting relationships with patients, which she fosters by “addressing any fears or concerns and offering words of encouragement and support.” She encourages patients to be engaged in their health and well-being. “Building trust is critical,” she says. Spending quality time with family is Rameni Rahim’s favorite way to spend her free time. She also enjoys traveling, gardening, and worldly music. She shares that in her younger years, she attended school in a Dutch-speaking country.

Dr. Karla Curet discovered her calling early in life, while working at her grandfather’s practice in Puerto Rico. As a board-certified internal medicine physician, she loves to advocate for patients in need, serve the community, and develop her interest in science. “My favorite part is building relationships with senior patients and their families,” she says. “I always do my best to address their medical concerns and other issues that affect their life.” When she’s not providing care or researching, Dr. Curet enjoys quality time with her husband and daughter. Her favorite activities are dancing, fitness, spending time outdoors, and cooking. One day, Dr. Curet hopes to visit Venice as well.
