  • Robert N. Miller Jr., MD

    MD

    Dr. Robert Miller was in high school when he first became interested in healthcare. Before pursuing a career in it, he served as a Navy submarine commander and officer, for which he was awarded much recognition. Since he transitioned to medicine, Dr. Miller has cared for patients through the Navy, Marines and many medical centers. “While I’ve enjoyed it all, I really value the relationships I can make through primary care,” he says, “and how I can see the impact on seniors’ health, well-being and independence.” In his spare time, Dr. Miller plays golf any chance he gets. He and his wife love going to sporting events and traveling the world. They’re also proud parents to their son who’s a recent college graduate.

  • Pratik Pandit, MD

    MD

    When Dr. Pratik Pandit was in primary school, he admired how physicians shared their knowledge with patients in a caring way. Dr. Pandit knew then that he wanted to make a difference for patients, too. After medical school, he chose to specialize in geriatrics. “Seniors deserve specialized care and I want to be sure they get it,” Dr. Pandit says. “It’s brings me joy to help them feel better, improve their medical outcomes and have a higher quality of life.” When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Pandit likes to keep up to date on the latest medical information. He also enjoys spending time with friends and loved ones, playing board games and traveling. His favorite destination so far has been Iceland.

  • Danielle Crawford

    DPM

    When Dr. Danielle Crawford’s uncle injured his legs, she learned a podiatrist could treat his fractures, burns, wounds and gait abnormalities. This began her love of her profession. Today, she is board certified with the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and specializes in biomechanics and diabetic care. “I am armed with the skills to help seniors with their foot and ankle ailments,” says Dr. Crawford. I am a listener first. I strive to understand my patients’ needs and earn their trust. I stand behind them with my expertise to help them navigate and improve their lives.” Dr. Crawford and her husband relocated to Jacksonville from the DC area with their son. She likes to sing and dance and play board games.

    DO

    Dr. Karla Curet discovered her calling early in life, while working at her grandfather’s practice in Puerto Rico. As a board-certified internal medicine physician, she loves to advocate for patients in need, serve the community, and develop her interest in science. “My favorite part is building relationships with senior patients and their families,” she says. “I always do my best to address their medical concerns and other issues that affect their life.” When she’s not providing care or researching, Dr. Curet enjoys quality time with her husband and daughter. Her favorite activities are dancing, fitness, spending time outdoors, and cooking. One day, Dr. Curet hopes to visit Venice as well.

    As a nurse practitioner, Manuela Cismaru loves assisting patients with reaching their goals. “I enjoy encouraging others and educating them as much as I can,” she says. Manuela Cismaru strives to give patients her full attention. “I sometimes repeat what they say to make sure I addressed all their concerns,” she explains. Manuela Cismaru wants patients to feel comfortable confiding in her and “appreciates those who want to take charge of their care.” She is grateful for the opportunity to guide the senior population “to maintain a healthy lifestyle.” When not with patients, Manuela Cismaru enjoys playing outside sports with her sons. She also likes cooking and exploring new restaurants and bakeries in her community.

  • Natalie Doyle

    MD

    Dr. Natalie Doyle, an internal medicine physician who specializes in obesity medicine, loves connecting with patients. “I feel what I do is a partnership where myself and the patient have to work together to reach our goal of better health,” she says. She explains that when first meeting patients, she listens more than talks to “understand the patient’s point of view and what their problems and goals are.” A hope that Dr. Doyle has for the current healthcare system is for patients to feel less intimidated. She wants all her patients to feel comfortable sharing their concerns. “I am always willing to listen,” she says. In her free time, Dr. Doyle enjoys reading, cross-stitching, and traveling. She hopes to visit all fifty states.

    Adam Smith chose to pursue nursing to “provide patient-centered holistic care to the underserved patient population.” His favorite part of his profession is “serving as a patient advocate and educator.” He actively listens to patients and strives to “empower them to make informed clinical decisions.” He explains, “I believe in partnering with my patients to develop an individualized treatment plan.” He especially enjoys helping his senior patients “improve their overall quality of life.” He is passionate about value-based care and likes attending annual medical conferences. In his free time, Adam Smith loves spending time with his family and watching college football. He also enjoys boogie boarding at the beach.

    After her mother was diagnosed with late-stage heart failure, Dr. Asma Aqib vowed to “become a primary care physician who can make a difference in lives by early detection and prevention of diseases.” She strives to be accessible and actively listen to her patients’ concerns. She deeply values trusting relationships. “I try to educate my patients so they can understand and partner to achieve their health goals,” she says. She is passionate about “promoting health equity and accessibility.” She adds, “I am humble and caring by nature. I try to take care of the physical and emotional well-being of people around me.” When not caring for patients, Dr. Aqib enjoys spending time with family, going on nature walks, and volunteering for community services.
