  Michel Ibrahim

  MD

  Dr. Michel Ibrahim is passionate about healthcare accessibility and loves working with patients on their journey to improved health. “I see the patient- doctor relationship as a team,” he explains. “I believe that the way to achieve great results is to empower our patients to make good decisions about their health,” he says. He strives to ensure all his patients receive adequate care and attention. He was particularly drawn to the senior population after losing his grandfather to a preventable condition. “The senior population are the most susceptible to be hospitalized, and I want to change that,” he says. In his free time, Dr. Ibrahim enjoys spending time with family. He also loves photography and sports, especially soccer.

  Cheryl McGruder

  MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC

  Cheryl McGruder loves getting to know her patients and strives to help them understand their medications. She explains, “During their visit, I take the time to address any social needs and offer any help they may need.” She genuinely cares about the health and well-being of her patients. “I want them to know I am listening to them, and I am here to help,” she says. She especially likes working with the senior population. “They have spent most of their lives taking care of others, and now it’s time to enjoy their golden years and relax,” she says. In her free time, Cheryl McGruder can be found completing DIY projects around her house. She also loves spending time with family and traveling with her younger sister.

  Patrick Berger

  DO

  Dr. Patrick Berger was inspired to work with the senior population by his aunt. He explains, “She told me that if I should become a doctor, I should concentrate on caring for the elderly, trying to keep my patient’s independent and healthy for their remaining years.” This had a lasting influence on him. He explains, “One of my goals is to enhance my patient’s quality of life. I focus on educating my patients and offering support.” To help build strong relationships with patients, he actively listens and treats each patient with empathy, compassion, respect, and honesty. When not caring for patients, Dr. Berger enjoys attending conferences and reading journals or other online sources to keep up with the latest medical advancements.

  Miguel Jurado

  An “interest in helping people using science-based skills” led Dr. Miguel Jurado to the medical field. For Dr. Jurado, the best part of being a physician is “seeing a patient’s health improve.” He likes getting to know his patients and understanding their concerns through “frequent, one-on-one visits.” He values early detection and disease prevention. He also emphasizes the importance of focusing on “whole health” through “quality relationships, proper sleep, healthy nutrition, and exercise.” He reads articles and attends seminars to keep up with new medical advancements. In his free time, Dr. Jurado loves spending time with his kids and grandkids. He also enjoys jogging, swimming, and watching Star Wars and Marvel movies.

  Dr. Federlin Jean believes in shared decision-making. “Actively listening to patients’ concerns can help make a difference in patients’ lives. I believe this can align our goals and contribute to better shared clinical decision making,” he says. His favorite part of his profession is developing relationships with patients and watching their health improve. “I want to serve as a guide for patients towards better health,” he says. He especially enjoys his time with his senior patients. “There is a lot to learn from being involved in their care,” he says. Dr. Jean can be found cooking Caribbean food or playing basketball in his free time. He also loves watching movies and dreams of one day having a home theater.

  Sandhya Narukonda

  Dr. Sandhya Narukonda, who specializes in both geriatrics and internal medicine, enjoys connecting with her patients “by being an active listener and validating patients’ concerns.” She loves educating patients and encouraging them to take ownership of their own health. “I enjoy taking care of senior patients, as for me, it is very rewarding and satisfying to see the difference we can make in their lives,” Dr. Narukonda says. To keep up with ever-evolving medical advancements, she often reads journals and attends both regional and national meetings. When not caring for patients, Dr. Narukonda loves spending time with her family. She also enjoys cooking and participating in outdoor activities.

  Growing up, Dr. Shishir David noticed a lack of basic healthcare resources, which ignited his interest in pursuing medicine. His favorite part of his profession is gaining his patients’ trust, which he says “is the most rewarding feeling.” He explains, “I have always believed to treat every patient like my own family member and to be respectful and empathetic towards them.” He highly values patient education and strives to help them “feel at ease both emotionally and physically.” He adds, “You have to be patient, empathetic, and diligent while treating the elderly.” In his free time, Dr. David loves traveling and trying new cafes with his wife. He also enjoys watching thriller movies and considers himself “a shopaholic.”
